Privacy Policy
Conjectal is a place for friends to make playful predictions and keep score. We collect what the app needs to do that, and nothing else. We don’t show ads and we don’t sell your data.
Who is responsible
Conjectal is operated by an individual, not a company, who is the controller of your personal data. Contact: hello@conjectal.com.
What we collect
Account: your email address, your name and your @handle. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email address with us. We do not receive your Google password.
Profile photo: only if you choose to upload one.
What you create: bets, sides, posts, comments, likes, friend connections and any photos or media you attach. Friends you share with can see them according to the visibility of each item.
Technical data: standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) created when you use the app, used for security and to keep the service running.
What we do not do
No advertising, no selling or renting of personal data, and no analytics or tracking cookies on this website. The app keeps your sign-in session in your browser or device storage so you stay logged in. This is strictly necessary for the service to work, is not used to track you, and is not a cookie we use for advertising or analytics.
Why we use it
To create your account, show your bets and posts to the people you choose, send sign-in and account emails, keep the service secure and fix problems. Our legal basis is providing the service you asked for and our legitimate interest in keeping it safe.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of trusted service providers for hosting, database and file storage, sign-in, and sending account emails. Your data is stored in the EU. These providers act only on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes. Some of them are based outside the EU/EEA; where your data is transferred there, it is protected by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google handles that sign-in under its own privacy policy.
No real money
Conjectal does not handle payments or hold funds. Tabs are friendly IOUs between friends and are settled outside the app.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can edit your name, handle and photo in your profile. You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account); this permanently removes your account, bets, posts and uploads. We keep data only while your account exists, apart from short-lived security logs.
Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to processing, or complain to your data protection authority (in Sweden, IMY). Email hello@conjectal.com and we will respond.
Age
Conjectal is for people aged 16 and over.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app. Questions: hello@conjectal.com.
